Below are descriptions of pristids for all extant species and one extinct genus and species. We are currently seeking the descriptions for other extinct species described from the fossil record.

GLAUCOPRISTIS BRUXELLIENSIS [new genus and new combination derived from Rhinobatus bruxelliensis Jaekel, 1894, having tooth morphological characteristics of both Glaucostegus and Pristis. Based on thousands of teeth from the Clay, Hyon, and Tielt formations of the Ypresian, early Eocene of the southwestern North Sea basin. Rostral teeth were also found associated with the oral teeth, and may belong to this new genus and species.]
